About me

Prof. Dr. Tayfun Aybek was born on the 6th of November, 1967 in Eskişehir, Turkey. He was graduated from Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in 1990. He specialized in Cardiovascular Surgery and became an associate professor at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Currently, he is the head of the Cardiovascular Department of TOBB ETU University in Ankara, Turkey. Curriculum Vitae

TAVI Explantation: Is it possible with surgical method?

Case Presentation: Age 78, severe aortic stenosis, cardiac left ventricular ejection fraction (cardiac pumping capacity) is 35%, TAVI (biological aortic valve replacement through inguen) has been performed. Patient’s complaints continued and after 1 month, valve leak is observed (paravalvular leak) and TAVI (2nd implantation) operation is renewed.

Worldwide known Turkish Cardiac Specialist Tayfun Aybek, MD, 39, is being loved in Frankfurt very much.

"I got the quantum patent."

Aybek said that he is the very first surgeon who performed this new method as he found it. With this method he said, body temperature is being kept at 32 degrees so that it provides blood flow in the capillary vessel. "In this way, postoperative side effects are reduced."
